Available Positions:

PR and Marketing Intern

The Trotter Project seeks an intern to support the organization’s marketing, communications, and media outreach efforts. The PR and Marketing Intern will help promote and elevate awareness of The Trotter Project and assist The Trotter Project’s marketing team on branding and promotion.

This position can be conducted remotely but it is preferred that the Intern lives in the Chicagoland area to attend monthly meetings.

Responsibilities include:

  • Support online marketing efforts, including newsletters, email campaigns
  • Conduct market segment research.
  • Copywriting, editing, and building marketing materials.
  • Identifying new media opportunities that become available.
  • Assist with various projects to support The Trotter Project website, social media, communications, and fundraising, as assigned.

Hours: College Credit Compliant, minimum of 10 hours per week. 

Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Passionate about food and education 
  • Flexible schedule
  • Design skills including attention to detail and experience with layouts
  • Ability to handle multiple activities and projects simultaneously
  • Ability to organize for and complete projects with supervision

The intern will work directly with both The Trotter Project’s staff and Marketing/Communications Committee, and PR agency. 

Compensation:

  • $750 stipend per quarter
  • College credit (where applicable)

Social Media Intern

The Trotter Project seeks an Intern to support the organization’s marketing, communications, and social media efforts. The Social Media Intern will be responsible for helping with the content development and schedule for The Trotter Project’s social media channels and blog for the foundation. 

This position can be conducted remotely but it is preferred that the Intern lives in the Chicagoland area to attend meetings and events.

Responsibilities include:

  • Produce and schedule unique and well-crafted content for The Trotter Project’s social media outlets (including Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram accounts).
  • Conduct market segment research.
  • Develop content for The Trotter Project’s website, such as blog posts.
  • Support The Trotter Project’s electronic newsletter development.
  • Assist with various projects to support The Trotter Project website, social media, and fundraising, as assigned.

Hours: College Credit Compliant, Minimum of 10 hours per week.
